Fishing oz style > Chat > Lure chat
Mully
here are a sample of color and lures that work well on yellow belly"callop" cod and other natives...

CODSEEKER LURES

My first experiance with the codseeker from Michael "Mick" was this using a 80mm version in the below color...

AND RESULTED IN A 55CM CALLOP

STUMP JUMPER

I have always run these colors and they have served me well never really considered other colors..
Mully
POLTERGEIST LURES

My polti collection only have 4 of them lost one up at the riverland...

AND SPINNERBAITS

I use a spinner from pro x spinnerbaits from Kustom Lures and can recommend their ability to catch fish. They come with a stinger hook attached which makes hook ups easier and are not too badly priced around $11

stinger on the back

most spinnerbaits will score fish just get the colors right,,,dark colors or blue white colors will always prevail as boney bream are their preferred meals of juvenile carp, callop and redfin....
match the hatch so to speak...

Hey Mully i've got 'A' stump jumper hanging on me bench, never been used, well not in anger anyway laugh.gif

Can't even remember why i bought the bloody thing, guess it must've said that they catch flatties, that always sucks me in rolleyes.gif .
Mully
Cant see why it wouldn't they are great at bouncing off the bottom I might give it a go on flatties now you have posed this idea,I think they will work great....
Will try very soon thanks for the inspiration...
Spudly
got a few, never used them, might have a go in my trip north

Yeah Mully they've just always seemed a bit big for my liking,so i never rrealy fished it with confidence, spose that can make the difference eh!!

Plus i've never had any success with H/B's other than a little gold scorpion, think thats what it was rolleyes.gif .

But i've been do'n ok with the sp's,found a few better spots with bigger fish since then,so thank you for the inspiration,i'll have ta give it another go.

Just one thing, they have a removable bib right?,well my question is do they all???

Cause i thought the one at home was like that, just i can't find the spare, and just outta curiousity i tried to get the bib off,but no luck, she's stuck as. laugh.gif laugh.gif

it has jj's on the bib but i'm sure it's a stump jmper.
Mully
Some of the range did and some didn't mate depends on the year of manufacture and the size of the stumpy ,,,theyrange from tiny 60mm
or so then 80 then the bigger 120 size don't quote me on the sizes but they are around that size...All the later ones can change bibs and depths in doing so...
Mully
JJ's is stumpjumpers signature
