Just wondering what people experiance with these are? Personally I Have ever used them but was looking at some 200mm versions and wondering how they would go around on 10 and 15 kg rigs around the headlands?

The ones i mean are just like a soft plastic but rigged for trolling, cant remember the brand but im sure there are a few differant ones.

hey Rum I cant say that i have tried them, but cant see why cant work.
depending were your from and if theres toothy criters its going to be expensive.
I could see them working if you find bait fish and troll arond them larger fish could be prowlling around them, again it could be $$$$ if they keep taking swipes at them, as with S/plastics I go through a lot .
Maybe hard bodies would be the go.

Not really sure to which you are refering to I'm assuming you're refering to the squid type or the very large SP type ?

There's that many lures on the market these days it's not funny alot catch the fishermen & not the fish.

I'm old school either your traditional skirted lures or bibless minnows / Rapala types

Having said that it's more a hobby than anything but O make all my own some are proven designs which I take a mold of then knock one out after another & some are my very own design have more than you can poke a stick @ but these days only carry the ones skirted on the boat & generally run the same 4 every time dependind what I'm targeting in 2nd pic the lure heads.



If there's enough interest I could be persuaded to do a thread on how to mould & cast your own lures

I think you'd be more productive using 3" Xmas trees around headlands, blue ones were always good for me.

3" Christmas Trees hey?? Got 10000 planted at the farm, but they all about 4 meters now, would a small cut off branch do the trick??

going to pick myself up a few bibless lures and a few skirted lures. Never used either buit ill see what the shop recomends and give it a go.. Its all a learing experiance..

there are some new S.P. on the market fully rigged for stick faces. one of the blocks at work has tried them no hock ups yet but claims to have had some good strikes on them.

Yeah poly I thought thats what Rucs was refering to SP riged , But i think they can get expensive if they get crashed and rip'ed
the biger models 30cm riged are about 30-35$each.
one grab and tear from a toothy and there goes $30 of plastic

My fav hard one (apart from that one) is the "Bllue Pilly'' by Lively lures deep or shallow divers,I like a hard one rather than a soft one :wub: .

I have a couple of 4 oz jig heads laying about they can be used for rigging up baits or very large grubs and trolled quite easily.
Personally Id run a squid SP on one and I reckon a lazy king may hit you pretty quickly...

I have no need for the jig heads mate so if you want them send me $5 for postage and ill send both up to you ,,there worth $15 each retail..

You can rig them how ever you like..
