Well peeps met the Smelly one yesterday & we went out for a spin
Tossed a bit of gear into the little tinny & off we went launched the boat in @ Pt Botany & got confronted by a Mor Wester as we came out into the Bay not good let me tell ewe's esp considering we wanted to go fish Taren point.

Wind wasn't that strong but it was bloody cold & after tossing some lures on the eastern side of the 3rd runway I decided bugger this it's all Smelly's fault he forgot to load spray jackets into the boat laugh.gif

So back to the ramp stoped of home to pick up jackets then drove to Sylvania to launch there, finally got to one of the spots where flathead have been caught in good no's & the home of the Mr Miaggi Technique.

We didn't do that crash hot think only 3 flatones & smelly mastered the art of freeing snagged lures with the assistance of the lecky laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anyways the wind seemed to have subsided some so up came the lecky & off we went back out towards the heads to where I'd gotten into some fish the day b4 & after getting there decided it was a bit sloppy to drop anchor so off we went to secret Jumpus spot no ?????

Took about dozen casts & I hooked up to a nice flatone it did go 67 cm's & I commented to Smelly that I wished Dave was there to see the release & started pissing myself laughing picturing the look on his face as the fishy sawm away laugh.gif laugh.gif

After that Smelly joined the Num Ray club when he landed one of those he lived after the release guess he was wearing his rubber undies laugh.gif

wind had swung to a Sth Easter so off we went again up the river to flick the lures around the mooring poles & ended up with just one more small flatone but it was pleasant there out of the wind overall all it wasn't the best days fishing fish wise but @ least we weren't @ work like ewe suckers were laugh.gif laugh.gif

Thanx again for a grouse day Jumpy biggrin.gif .

Yup can't beleive the jackets :o .

Boy what a day, after wanting to meet up with peeps off the net for ages(with no sucess),it was only fitting that the first one i fished with was Jumpy, have been keen to meet him,and was not dissapointed!

To tell the truth i was finding it hard to concentrate on fishing,as i had so many things i wanted to yak with him about, think i may have given him a headache, but with a head like that,it should ache anyways laugh.gif .

Oh man the stories,i was blown away, and i learnt a great deal also, and the little goat is a joy to fish from, with a place for everything, very well layed out.

It was however very different to the way we used to fish the bay years ago,and yes i was stoked to catch my first numb ray,i realy wanted to touch it just to see,but yeah it would've been a waste of time as i did have my lucky rubber fishy unger dunger's on.

I also got to meet STEVO the devo, and then we had a chat, man i could've sat there gas bagging alnight argue.gif ,oh and the boofy woofy's liked me too i think.

No,not at all Dave,i was just about to suggest a release when Jumpy beat me to it.

Mate we got a few smaller ones if we wanted a feed,at that size and over their much better in the water mate.

Besides the breeding and the rest of it,i'd much rather see a big one swim away, ever done it,once done it becomes addictive, and it's even better to get it on video.

I've got about 30mns footage of some nice flatties swim'n free,i watch it over and over and over. biggrin.gif

Had a 'Day on the Bay' myself, today. Very late start, as I had to drop my daughter off at work first. Launched at 10am and went straight to secret spot #1. The bay was just so smooth - never seen it like that, and clear as gin. Nothing doing at #1 spot. Well that's not quite true, as I joined the Jumpus Goodarus Numb Nuts Club with a personal best Shockus Inedibilis. It was not only a PB, but a first for me on a lure. It ground the tail off my punkinseed shad, so I wasn't too happy with it. Cast Towra, trolled Towra, jigged in front of the sailing club, back to Towra. Got bitten off by a chopper and the wind was up by now. Thought I would drop a SP along the pylons at Capt Cook Bridge. Got hit on the way down and landed my one and only flattie. Only a little boy lizard of 45cm, but he will be eaten tonight. Maybe next time......... laugh.gif
