OK Picked up Martin (you know that dutch bum that at the age of 29 thinks he deserves a year of) at 7 am this morning from Janalli train station and headed for the St George's motor boat club to launch.

Just past the bridge saw some irregularities at the bottom and with some other boats fishing there we decided this was the place to catch fish.
We set out the berley trail with chook pellets and bread mixed with tuna oil and we caught plenty (snapper upto 15 cm bream upto 22).

See here Martins first Oz caught fish!!!!!

we moved to the other side of the bay after a while berley'd some more and caught plenty more but added a puffer fish to the tally (again all under size)

Than we decided to move shallower and between the weed beds and managed to catch some whiting as well. They ended up as lunch (well actually a pre lunch snack)

Martins First Oz self caught meal.

The weather was good, rain passed over and fell elsewhere.

Jack

Haji thanks for checking up on us to make sure we were ok tongue.gif Next time I'll have to give you a ring before we anchor up and chuck berley in so you can give us your magic spots.

Just a few Q's 1st off the bat Jack ????

Did you wear sunglass's & a hat when you picked upthe Bunyip Man so as no one would recognise you ????

Is that lamb that the Bunyip Man is eating ?????????????????????????????

Q's out of the way laugh.gif laugh.gif

Martin !

Welcome to Oz mate,

The land down under where Jumpus takes the piss out of everyone laugh.gif laugh.gif

Sydney would prob be one of your possibly worst fishing destinations & think you'll have a few good stories to tell after you've travelled a bit.

But you did manage some fish with Jack & that's a good start

Onya guys

I'll ask him what he wants to do with , he went to great lengths getting this back to my place w/o fisheries finding out.
He put it underneath the built in floor of my boat. tongue.gif

Good report Jack, and at least he caught fish.

The mould of that fish would look like this:
Set up cost $500
Mould of 4" fish $60 laugh.gif

OMG marting does look like a Bunyip. hysterical.gif hysterical.gif
Looking forward to meeting him next weekend.

haha you pack of bastards.. having a go at me while I'm in the train with no internet.. tsss ;)

Well as you can gather we had a pretty good day today. Even just being out on the water and motoring around at high speed was good fun, it's been too long since I've been out for a day like that. Weather was ok, especially since it seems to have rained quite a bit downtown from the looks of things while we were out in the bay.

Jack really looked after me yesterday and today, took me shopping for gear, fed me and took me fishing so a big thanks to him and his family!

Fishing.. well for me any fish is good fish since it's my first day out and I really enjoyed it. The cool thing was that almost every cast would result in bites almost straight away. Prob because there were a million little fish around. Jack hooked into some small snapper straight away but I had a bigger hook on so the first thing to take it was the bream in the pic.. after a while I decided to downgrade as well so as at least to get into some fish and straight away I got our first whiting and a whole bunch of undersize stuff after that which was all great fun. I was happy we got the whiting so we at least had a small feed for lunch.. nothing quite like fresh fish which you've just caught yourself!!

All in all I had a really great day, thoroughly enjoyed my first fishing experience oz style thanks to Jack!

Mate the water is brown up there in so many ways. Just watch out for the chocolate floaters.
