That Maltese Mothball mate of yours Dave's not here man has talked me into holding his hand on a trip up your way.

Well Dave is about as usefull as tits are on a bull in other words he's bloody hopeless exept for eating all the food laugh.gif laugh.gif

If I go somewhere new I like to know a bit about the area, now I've been shooting @ Tamworth B4 but that was many moons ago some 25 years ago recall it being hilly & very woody perfect terraine for Woody Wood Pecker.

How about giving us some info & a run down on the area ??

Manilla is Situated 45kilometers due North of Tamworth.
The township is built on the Junction of two rivers.
The reason there is two rivers is that there is two sets of Mountain Ranges, one which lies Due North of Town, the other runs North West,
The Manilla river starts at Horton Falls at the back of Mount Kaputar, this runs through Barraba and to Manilla Junction, It has Split Rock Dam built between Barraba and Manilla.
The Namoi River starts its journey 40 klms East of Manilla at Warrabah National Park,Then flows 20 kilometers from the Junction to Lake Keepit, the Falls at Warrabah are fed by the Macdonald River which flows West from the Great Divide and carries the Rain and Snow run off from Walcha through Bendemeer and on to warrabah Falls.
Between these mountain Ranges lies mountainous Cattle Country, and the flatlands are wheat producing.

Most of this terrain is accessible with 4wd or Quad bike.
The land masses also produce many Kangaroos, Goats,Pigs, Foxes, Rabbits, Hares, Ducks,Quail, Pidgeon, and many other (non edible) species of Birds and animals.
Platypus were first located in Manilla, Manilla is also known as the Paragliding Capital of the World,
Country Music was also something that was big in Manilla, and now has moved to Tamworth.
The Town Population is 2500 and the farming community brings the total to 3500
Manilla has an area of 2258 Square kilometers and is 363 meters above Sea Level.

Manilla consists of Open country even in the Mountains, there is very little scrub country around here even with our whopping 2250 square kilometres.
