QUOTE (catchnrelease @ Jan 5 2010, 10:03 PM) *
1st I never said any of the rods other than the 1-3kg were copies of nitros.

Maybe not directly but that's wot ewe insinuated, I gave ewe slack with the labeling thingy cause I know very well the bullshitta that sales people will spin to get a sale

QUOTE
I decide what the rod would be best for based on how it feels in my hand and its specs.

Then take a leaf from my book & give people reasons why ewe dont like a product & let them make up their own minds, the way ewe come across on these forums is that ewe're the all mighty of fishing tackle & people should take your word on things, ewe never give reasons as to why

QUOTE

Why on earth would ewe even bother looking @ that rod ?????

Christ not even I have bothered looking @ it, it's a convinence rod with a very limited market I'm surprised they even put it into production

QUOTE
I know enough to make my own decisions and I stick by what I think and say.

Ewe know very little I'm afraid & got alot to learn & the only way ewe can get knowledge is with time wun day if ewe think back to his conversation ewe'll look back & say to yourself

Hmmmmm that Jumpus falla knew wot he was on on about

QUOTE
you rarely get to try before you buy.

Ewe want to know why I seem to have so many outfits ???????????????

Cause when I take sum wun new out with me they bring nut ting in tackle they use my gear that's wot it's there for to let them make make their own minds

People like Spud, Bees, Jelly Bean etc etc on this site aren't sucking up to me, they've all used the gear & putting up their own thoughts a far cry from wot ewe are doing

QUOTE
I'm also pretty sure you're affiliated with Viva, what what you say may be a lil' bit bias.

I have no affiliation with the boys exept that we are good friends, when people do the right thing by me I return the compliment, I have no need nor do I make $$'s from fishing tackle I made my $$'s elsewhere.

I do it for the love of the sport which has given me great enjoyment over the years.

Nor am I bias towards the Viva tackle I do not hesitate to point out wot I think is wrong with their gear& again it's allways my personal view & I stress that in my posts cause not every wun has the same taste

It's more a case of me getting sick & tired of all the bullshitta rave everybody posts on forums in regards to the Daiwa & Shimano gear but unlike most who rave on about this gear I own quite a fair bit of their Top range reels sum ting very few do.

So my Q to ewe is !

How can sum wun boast about Sum Ting they dont own ???????????????????????????????????????????????????

Oh just wun more thing

Wun of the reasons I go to bat for Viva is quite simple esp of late since they've started bringing out some quality tackle

They make it affordable for those who dont want to pay the over the top Shimano , daiwa prices

Whilst I'm here those who dont want to pay those over the top Shimano , daiwa prices on reels like the stella etc have a look @ these had I'd not purchased that 20000 stella not long ago & known about these

These reels would've been my choice @ under have the $$'s

Sort of pulled wun apart today & was impressed Assemble here in Sth Oz they are built like brick shite houses

hmmm how can I answer this:

1. Wasn't insinuating anything. I know the 1-3kg LOX are a copy of the Nitro Vapour series. The other rods don't look anything like anything from Nitro.

2. The kingy stick's aren't to MY liking. Loaded up, it feels uncomfortable. Of course loaded up by a person and by a fish are very different, but it gives me an idea. I had to hold the grip about half way down which was pretty thick and I don't see the point for as much grip as there is. By holding it up toward the top of the grip the rod felt like snapping (seeing how I had to high stick it to hold it there).

3. Like I said, I stick by my decisions. Whether you agree with them??? I've felt the kingy stick and I didn't like it - first impressions are a big part of what I have to go on before I sink my $$$ into a product. My opinion can always be changed, but to do that it seems I'd have to buy the rod, then use it, and then like it. I don't have the money (or the contacts) to justify that risk. If I bought it and still didn't like it then that's just money wasted. I don't get to try before I buy either, or not in this case.

What I was wrong about, though, was assuming you had some sort of affiliation with Viva tackle. For that, my apologies. With all the cutting edge news on Viva tackle I just assumed, but I was wrong.

Also, the only LOX products I don't like are the kingy stick and travel stick. The lighter ones feel nice, look nice and (on first impressions) seem like a great rod. Don't think I'm bad mouthing the whole range.

I've seen those tuff tackle reels. I am looking to get a higher end jigging combo (~50lb) and was planning to get a Twinpower 8000SW (very similar to the Stella SW). I may look into it, do you have any reviews of it?

Heya Catch, I just dont get what your saying... Ive seen these rods, ive been to the viva factory and seen a "VERY SMALL" amount the gear they have, so who do you know that has shown you this stuff before it leaves the factory.

No offence mate, But i just find it hard to work out how you get to play and try out all this gear before anyone else, when the bloke whos pic is all through their catalogue has the one of the only ones in the country and im pretty sure he didnt show em to ya?

Sure Jumpy might give them a good plug, but all the gear ive got through him or viva has been great and its still a fraction of the price of the shimano or daiwa stuff which doesn't do the job any better, just has a flash label..

Aha !

You're finally learng sum ting hysterical.gif

The rod was designed to do exactly wot ewe dont like about it & this is where your inexpirience shows, Kungs are an up & down fight the longer 4grip gives ewe that much more leverage & lifting power on the fush

I dopped off sum stock off to Botany Bay Tackle yesterday on the way home & there was a few boys there, they all drooled over the kungy stick Loui used to pro for kungs using jigs many moons ago & both of us said why wasn't tackle about back in the goodarus old days.

His brother Steve [aka the Talking Machine hysterical.gif ] Wants them for his chater boat & he's a Kungy Specialist
Could've sold the one I dropped off within 5 minutes but cause the guy was a mate of the boys told the guy 2b be patient & wait for wot I think to be a much better jig stick to arrive

Loui has got the 2 alloy body models in his shop they actually look the goods

That's correct [A very small Amount] ewe were there for the sale which was out front I wont take anybody into the warehouse or showroom cause they'll walk out with 22.gif 22.gif 's

Well I wasn't aware the other models had arrived thought it was only the 1-3kg sticks they were air frieghting into oz shops wanted the kungs sticks on the shelves for Xmas

FOW in the city has plenty of the LOX range stocked - whether it's all of them I don't think so, but definitely the kingy stick and the travel rod along with a few more slightly heavier ones than the 1-3kg. They've been there for a while too, or at least before I put up my first reply in this thread. That's where I found them.

JG I've caught plenty of kings, I know how they fight. Not as many as you, but enough (and it's more than 2 or 3). I also know all about leverage. I still think the grips are too long and too thick for my liking. By holding the rod high up towards the top of the grip you're forced to either high stick it (unless you have really long arms), or bend over to compensate. That'll hurt your back if you bend over and when you high stick a rod you better know what you're doing (give and take when the fish dives and rises).

Does nothing of the sorts & to those who actually know how to handle a rod there's no chance of causing yourself an injury.

I'm not the spring chookens I used 2b & have lost alot of body weight compared to when I was younger but I'd outlast any of ewe spring chookens fighting a fushy.

Think the prob with most of ewe wittle chookens is you've to many dickheads on video's & the idiot box all rying to be hero's with no idea on how to handle a rod
Sum that I have seen give the impression they are vying 4 1st place in the world Wanking Championships & want to get dubbed King 2 stroke hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

I've only seen a very few actually possess style & grace when working a rod & that's when I start making fun of peeps with sum of the posts they make

No need on Kungs to harness up cause the fight dont last that long so it's all arms in lifting the fush not your back or legs

Different story on gamefish like marlin, YFT, with straight butts 15 kg & under I dont even bother with harness nor rod bucket unless the fight goes into overtime & arms start getting tired

24kg & over that's a different story think bent butts are a must with a good thigh bucket & bum harness again ewe do not lift with your back this is where your legs do all the work

Use equipment correctly & there's no chance you'll hurt yourself

If I saw anyone with a harness on a king I'd give them sh*t too. A rod bucket is all you need at most - on larger fish.

I think I'm done arguing. Let's just agree to disagree. rolleyes.gif

Googlefushy have ewe given up allready ?????????? hysterical.gif

I'm off for a few days should be enough time to refill your Bagpipes & ewe can attempt another comeback

Oh !

here's a rod stroing technique tip for ewe to practice whilst I'm away it's called the Mr Miyagi Sun technique

1st ewe need to find a pole
This pole is to stand on, not to take your cloths off & dance around & yes ewe can still leave your hat on hysterical.gif

Hook a fushy & land it whilst standing on wun leg, this will teach ewe balance

ps] Make sure ewe go to the toilet & do wee wee's b4 getting up on the pole else wee wee's will wun down your leg hysterical.gif hysterical.gif

No point arguing opinions. I don't like them, you do. I've given my reasons, you've given yours. By the looks of it, nothing's going to change that any time soon.

BTW I bet you learnt all your pole dancing moves around Foreshore ay? hysterical.gif

There's nothing wrong with holding the top grip a little lower if your arms are too short to comfortably reach the top of it.

Tis a hard wun to answer cause not evllywun fush's the same

I really luved the 1-3 kg stick I got to use yesterday till I snaped the tip off & had to use my squid rod for most of the day
Ewe really notice a big difference when casting & even the wee est of taps get felt through the rod & that's wot I used to take the piss out of peeps hu claimed that braid gives ewe that feel.

Wot alot of Booshite tis the rod a good rod with the right action will let ewe feel everything

My fault got the braid wraped around the tip & it knoted up, silly meput a wee bit to much pressure on the tip & it snaped, not gonna worry about geting a new front section for the rod cause I only lost about 25 mm I've allready sweated of the tip & re-glued it back on.

As great as these 1 - 3 kg sticks are I would not recomend them to anywun who dosen't look after their gear

Need ewe to tell me line class ewe want to run ???

Only used it a couple of times but I like the 2 - 5 kg stick @ present hardware [grips] are set up as a bait rod but when stock arrives there will be a spin model these blanks are copies of the Megbass rods

I kinda liked the wot they're calling the 4 - 7 kg stick but haven't got wun yet

Prob the wun they call the 3 - 5 kg stick

It's got the whippy tip which will allow ewe to really whip out the lighter hard body lures & it's got the lifting grunt to control the fushy's

I did have sum pics of Bees using wun loaded up on a fushy but cant seem to find the pic
