Hi all, just got back from Glenbawn dam . Had a good time bass fishing I did manage to get a few , mainly on surface lures early morn. and late arvo.
Also got some during the day, the water was very clear and it made for great fishing at times , having a good pair of polaroid sunnys makes a big diference , seeing the bass following and then smacking plastics I was slow retrieving.
Got buried a couple of times in the timber they hit so fast and savage that if you blink twice crazyman.gif then your to slow and another lure gets donated . Here's some pics.

They liked this lure

daniel son its not estuary , if thats what you think . its a big fresh water dam and its not as easy as you might think.
For newbies trying this its very hard

Dont know the numbers didnt keep score was maily going out before the sun got up. for a seshion then late arvo, maily surface lures were used . love the explosion when they take it off the surface and then try to bury you smile.gif A few were caught on plastics and also spiner baits.
The bigest I landed was 45cm , and I say landed as I was buried a few times by I asume bigger fish .The average was 40cm .
But they were fat and powerfull, The only time I didnt get fish was the first day when I got there , set up camp and went out in the arvo for a looksy.
One arfternoon after scoring a coulple and the sun was going down , one of the better times to fish, I hooked up 5 fish on the trot, one after the other Of whitch 3 were landed and pulled out of the other 2 . and then had to leave them as the bugs were unbearable that eavning.

JG just though you'd like to know that on Monday I went out with some guys on Ambition and we got three YFT, one 10kg and two 30kg and three albies all around 8kg. I also lost a YFT around the 30kg mark under the boat after a long fight on my 10kg spin stick - I was jigging a small metal jig in hope of an albie.

Also a few days ago one boat reportedly caught 8 YFT all around the 30kg mark.

This is all east of Brown's BTW. We drifted for quite a while eastwards and all the action happened after 4pm or so. The fish were hooked on an assortment of cubes, livies and jigs.

edit: ummm....wierd???
