What is the best rigging method for a 2 hook 'stinger' rig? When live baiting, which setup is best? Diagrams etc are always good smile.gif

Wot Chu ralking about kk ?

Stinger hooks as I know them are a loose hook used on lures trailing out past the skirt illegal if fishing comp rules

It's purpose is to foul hook a fish when they smack the lure

A bit like playing 2up when ewe see the fish smacking the lure ewe yell out

well stinger or keeper i don't know the correct term for it, i now use a second hook when fishing with SP's for bream and have found i get a better hook up rate. J G the second hook is placed through the SP about 1cm's in front of the tail would that brake the rules of a comp ????? dry.gif dry.gif

poly it's been years since I looked @ rhe rules I fish for fun these days & it's alot more enjoyable than fishing comp
Couldn't be certain but think that tig is A . O . K

Only know the stinger regulations on skirted lures because of a old friend who only passed away a few days ago a bloke by the name of Peter Goadby whom is one of very few I have alot of respect for & as you religious nuts would say God Rest His Soul.

When Pete spoke I listened he was one of the greats of the sport cause when he spoke you sensed he knew exactly what he was on about cause it all made sense.

Here is a picture of my stingers attached to spinnerbaits,,opent the eye of the stinger insert onto first hook close eye...add piece of tubing to stop the hook riding too high..
Stingers in fresh especially on spinners account for more than 90% better hoook up rate in my books as they always smak the tails and not the first hook

saltwater is same precess unless using trebles then i need to get a new photo.....

Live baiting I would never use the stinger technique always snooded or snelling hooks for me on decent mono trace like jenkai or whatever your preferance may be....
