You're right frank it's definitely a later model, who knows it may have even had a earlier model T&T unit put in it or they could be rebadged Zukes or something.
Buggered if I know I can't even keep up with Ford & Holden models anymore.
That model number means nothing in the OMC code up to & including 1998.

Fed. That's what I've been saying all along. The numbers don't add up.
Will be asking a few questions when I take this motor back to the guy I bought it from to get sorted.

Sorry Frank, I gathered from your earlier posts it was a two cylinder set-up, missed the dual ram bit.

It is hard to work out the Australian models when checking the model numbers on websites-my 96 30hp johno which was a aus model had a totally different model number to its US equivalent. I got some great help from the guys at marine scene in Campbelltown, might be a option for you if you have any trouble with your guy. Another possibility is Arizona Outboards for a replacement tilt/trim assy-good guys have used them a lot years ago.

Jason Where it is doubly confusing is that mine is a yankie version.

above the top plug is stamped made in U S A

Going over to see my mechanic today and see when he can fit it in to do it.
I'm not gonna worry about it any more just let him fix it under the warranty he sold me, and if there is any problems about fixing it under warranty I will start bad mouthing his business through the biggest fishing and boating forums in Australia, his name will be shit and I will let him know it.

Hopefully it will work out fine Frank.
I don't see how they can give warranty on second hand stuff unless it's been rebuilt from top to bottom.

I give a concrete warranty on stuff I sell, Fed. Once it leaves my concrete, the warranty expires.
