OK gentlemen as I suggested prior.
Me and a group of no hopers from a sister site of Fishnet ( FangNSW ) are having our annual St Clair trip on 15th and 16th March 2008.
We have chosen this date because it is before Easter, Before the kids break up, and as far as we know there are no comps etc on this week end. Climate wise it is about right.
There will no doubt be some of us that will get there on the Friday or even Thursday.
As I said before and for anyone that has not been to St Clair before. It is camping only with no shop, but the caretaker ( we call her ( the rottwieler )) will get you things from the shop, ice, batterys etc, even ice creams if you ask her nicely, but it is better if you had everything you need before setting up camp. It's about a 30/40 minute drive to Singleton.
I know this date won't suit everyone but no date ever does.
You are all invited and just let me know who is coming and who is taking boats etc, so I can work out and make sure everyone has bum on seat sort of speak.
We have a while to discuss things before the date so don't be shy.
I can't guarentee you will catch fish but I can almost guarentee that you will have a top time and will want to go again.
I will also be putting the welcome mat out to the Sydney Fish finder site, so we might end up having 3 sites involved.
Won't bother asking Sportsfish, unless someone knows someone they want to invite thats up to them.
I will get a estimate of camping fees etc as each time we go we get a pretty good discount on camping fees, but we have to be honest and count everyone, or they won't trust us next time.
There is no booking fees etc so if you say you are coming then pull out thats OK just Please let me know, so we are not sitting up all night waiting for you to show up, like we have done in the past.
Hope nobody thinks I am cutting in on their idea or location, but this is a going affair not simply talk.
And as I said everyone invited and family and friends welcome as well.
Frank

& yep I do think it will be a good outing most allways are unless the weather plays

If you promise me you'll add salt water into the dam I might come laugh.gif

Na mate like I said not really my cup of tea I'd rather go down the coast & struggle to catch flathead again

HI Frank, Keep us Posted, It's only 2 1/2 hours drive, but I'm a cheapskate so I need to Know what they charge for a site, Sometimes It's not worth going if they want Motel Prices for a campsite. and I'll speak to the local club boys If it's a goer I'll give you some Numbers from us Northerners.

Jumpus. I was much like yourself, although I would dabble in the sweet water on occasions when younger, my first preference was always salt. And still is.
The last 5 years or so I have been doing more and more fresh stuff, although the salt is still in my veins, I am getting to enjoy it.
With me though it's more the mateship and just sharing time with good mates.
I could go all that way and not get in a boat, just talking with and stirring mates is what it's all about for me.
With some good luck mate we can bring you back some great photos of us all having fun and you might feel like you have shared it with us.
The heavens will play a major role as it always does.

Catch & Sumo. Mate there are usually about 10-12 from Fang, sometimes more sometimes less.

I think for memory it works out about $ 17 a head for camping per day, but I could be wrong with this.
It never worried me before I would just pay what was asked.
These days I am on sickness benifits and the dollars need to be very carefully watched, so yes we need to find out what the bill is going to be.
I will ask another bloke that goes every year, he may have a better memory then me.

The heat gets to me Frank

Last decent trip I had to freshwater was a few years back up @ Glenbawn spent a day or so of it in hospital & didn't enjoy being on the water the sun & heat was draining me mind you I was not on any medication back then but the expirience didn't leave to many fond memories.

Mate. A couple of years back we went up in February it turned out to be the hottest day of the year and the hottest for quiet a few years, since 1922 or something like that. 47 deg under a tree.
We swore we would never do it at that time of year again.
I think middle March should be reasonable temps.
Mate if we keep stirring and twisting arms, we may yet see you there.
After all it's more about the mateship then what chemicals are in the water.

bigdog I edited your post reply button didn't work for me untill now so here's a rundown on how to use the options

When you're using multiple options like you did fonts , sizes & colour

everytime you click on one of them you need to divide the brackets with your curcer b4 clicking on the next then keep repeating everytime you select a new option it should look like this

bigdog

See how I have fonts on both outsides then sandwiched is the size & in the middle is colour ??

Once you've got that layed out your text [whatever you type or paste in] goes in between the 2 colour brackets

I had to take a screenshot to show what I meant see below

Yes it is a long drive from your place. One day we might get to have a meet closer to your neighbourhood.

How about Burrinjuck dam for next COD opening ?.
Cabins, camping, shops, the lot, even kangaroo's to play with.
Bit more expensive though.

I get down the coast (batemans or JB) frequently as these are only 5 hours and can pick up boat on way there. (close to dads place) would be happy to meet all down that way. Otherwise there are rivers and dams out this way. Bidgee? Wyangala.

Either way, have a good trip and ill hang out for the next one!
