Fishing oz style _ Lets Talk Fishing _ Botany Bay

Well not the most productive day I have had on the bay, but still managed a good feed, ended up with 4 squid ( good table size ) 2 x 40's Flathead and a nice table size Flounder, the conditions were from good to choppy. Almost sunk by a tug boat's wake, was stern on at the time and didn't react quick enough to turn the boat around nose onto the waves, was touch and go for a few moments there. Wonder how many small boats have been sunk by inconsiderate tug boats going bat out of hell to get to the freighters.
Again a enjoyable 6 hours on the water. The drive home wasn't that good though. And co0uldn't find a Leatherjacket anywhere.

PS Forgot about the banjo shark, beautiful fish them, but useless. also a couple of mannacing Octopusses that insisted on climbing into the boat to keep us company, one sucked onto my arm and wouldn't let go, remove one tentacle and another would cling onto me, ended up putting my arm in the water then it let go and swam off.

Didn't squeal but hate the feel of them critters sucking onto me anywhere, this one wanted me for lunch and wouldn't let go, he didn't nip me so I guess I was just lucky, they can give a nasty bite.

George Always fun when you are on the water, a few funny happenings always brighten up what could be a dull day. When that tug boat wage hit us on the stern I thought for sure we would be hitting the bilge pump but luckily my mate scampered up the front of the boat which raised the stern just enough so the wake didn't come over the back of the transom, good luck OR good thinking I don't know, I think he just wanted to get as far away from that wake as possible.

At least you made a full day out of it, and I have been bitten by a Cocky I don't think an Ocky would be any different, But it's a horrible feeling
when those tentacles start wrapping around your arm especially when you rip one off and another two grab hold of you, Oh The Joys of Fishing and having Fun
