Well ,
Unlike the gamler who only tell's you when he wins , i will give youse a fishing report , even if i don't turn a reel .
Yes that's right -styler's- , i went for another Jewy session last night & yes i did'nt catch a thing , but just like Jumpuss i was disadvantaged aswel .
I took a Dave too
We got there late , round 9-9:30pm only to see a stack of glo sticks pointing to the river. After a qik chat with the blokes fishing where i was last week , we soon found out they were going home .
So we waited then unleashed the beasts . My first 2 baits out were a big sqid ( strip & head ) & a butterflied yakka .Both bought from the fish shop .
After awhile i sent Dave down the Jetty to try & get some squid . He came back and said that some dude just got six but he none . So i went for a go only to find the yakka's schooling up so i went for them instead .First fush little tailor damn , then i got a Yakka & ran back to spot & lobbed him out .Dave was saying how i just got a 1/2 run , but again i had to explain ' if the bait is to their liking they'll hit it like a train ' uknow from Jewfish Secrets .
He kept wanting to try & hook the fish but they were only pickers , although looking at some of the nips in the bait there were a few good ones amongst'em , shame i left the bream gear at home cause the Transporter was booked out !
I tried everything again but nope nothing , narda , zip !!!!
Oh yeah Tezza was there again but left early & gave another dude fishing his spot a squid & he got a 1.5kg specimen .
we left at 3:30am
But the whole trip was not lost cause i found out a new ' tight arsed tip '
Tip #564
after useing ya glo sticks , whack'em in the freezer for next trip ! They'll be a little duller but are bright enough for another round . ;)
u using the glow sticks on your rods or on ya baits
At least you got out. What kind of rig were you using?
Baad luck fellas ever tried floats for your jew,and there is no such thing as half a run / bit like half a hole....
I have caught monsters on short runs the big ones feel the hooks i reckon and spit them there not old by being stupid....
Better luck next time..
go get them smelly u can't keep missing them all the time
just keeping trying and you start catching them before you know it
here's the pic .
The other shots were too reveiling .
In the pic you will see the ezy rig sliding thingy'me'bob , well i normaly remove the clip & tie a length of mono with dropper but i snagged it & that was the last cast .
I'm not saying this is the gun rig by any means , so if anyone has better ideas or just does things diff thats cool , just let me know how .
Another thing i was wondering about was the scales or whatever they call'em ( scutes ?? ) down near the tail of the yakka , should you cut them off or just leave'em when you butterfly a yakka????
Thanks for all reply's fella's
Try a fresh pilly or squid head (dead of course) with no weight. That's what I use when there is little current but if there is current then you need weight to keep it on the bottom.
